Speleotherapy is 100% natural, drug-free and non-invasive.
Speleotherapy, or salt therapy, is the process of inhaling microscopic salt particles in a temperature and humidity-controlled microclimate designed to mimic natural salt caves. These particles penetrate deeply into the tissues of the lungs to stimulate and help extract allergens and environmental contaminants, which are then expelled naturally.
The Salt Room Experience
The microclimate in our salt room uses salt from blocks cut and imported from a mine in Ukraine. The salt circulating through the air is released naturally through diffusion from the walls. By strictly controlling the temperature and humidity it is possible to create an anti-bacterial and allergen-free air environment. The microscopic salt molecules travel through the sinus and respiratory systems helping absorb moisture, and clear airways.
The salt particles are so small they are not noticeable and are easily inhaled with natural breathing. Simply by sitting in the salt room, our clients inhale low concentrations of salt deep into the lungs. Regular visits can help alleviate symptoms from respiratory and sinus related ailments.
Salt therapy is 100% natural, drug-free and non-invasive. Although speleotherapy is new to Canada, many countries in Europe consider this therapy conventional.
What to Expect from Your Salt Room Session
We have a comfortable salt room at our facility to support your needs. Sessions are 1 hour, and you remain in the room for the entire time. We have 3 comfortable chairs for you to sit in and relax or read. The family room is complete with toys and books, and a kid’s table, so that children can enjoy the session. Blankets are also available as the room is cool.
The room can accommodate up to 3 adults or families with 2 adults and up to 3 children under the age of 12 who are all known to each other, as adult supervision is required. Salt therapy is safe for all ages from 4 months and up. Sessions are private and reserved by appointment, so you will never be in the salt room with a stranger.
We accept walk-ins depending on available space.
